Let me introduce myself, my name is Tamera and I am the woman responsible for Wick Tease. Yes, the name was absolutely intentional & no, I won't apologize for it.
It all started with a simple and quite silly thought: why does a premium candle have to take itself so damn seriously?
I love beautiful candles & home fragrance. I love things with personality, things that stand out & stay with you. I wanted to create a candle with the quality & presentation of a premium one, & just enough personality to make someone stop, laugh, send a picture to a friend & say, "This is SO you."
The joke gets their attention. The premium quality justifies the price. The fragrance brings them back.
BEFORE THE CANDLES
Before Wick Tease, I was an organic dairy farmer alongside my husband.
Dairy farming doesn't care what day is on the calendar. No weekends. No holidays. No convenient vacation days. Rain, snow, bitter cold, exhaustion, you still get up & get the work done because living animals are depending on you. Especially when the babies decide they are coming whether you're ready or not.
We poured blood, sweat, tears & a whole lot of love into our animals. In the end, we had to sell our cows because the economics of small dairy farming were no longer sustainable. We were far from alone.
That farm taught me I can work my ass off. It also taught me something just as important: working your ass off does not automatically make the numbers cooperate.
BUILT DIFFERENTLY THIS TIME
That lesson is why I'm building Wick Tease the way I am. I've researched margins & planned inventory in stages, so I'm still standing long after the excitement of launching wears off.
I've formed Wick Tease LLC in New York, set up business banking, built the brand, design, fragrances, & started this website, all from my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, the only business technology I currently own. It's been one hell of a sidekick. I think it is about to petition for a position as an official business partner. 😄
I'm pre-launch & pre-revenue, & I won't pretend otherwise. I'd rather answer the expensive questions now than guess my way into a closet full of candles nobody asked for.
